The Great Hall

Upon entering the museum, visitors step into the Great Hall or meeting room that is used today by guest speakers. The Great Hall showcases documents and objects related to Charles K. Landis, Vineland’s founder, and the early years of settlement. This room also features a significant number of artifacts and documents related to the 1868 presidential election, when women in Vineland voted even though they were not legally allowed to cast ballots – an event that later sparked similar demonstrations in towns throughout the United States.

The Glass Room

Off the Great Hall is the Glass Room, set aside to recognize the glass manufacturing industry, which played an important role in Vineland's development. This room is dedicated to the different companies that produced glassware, including Durand, the Vineland Flint Glass Works, and the Kimble Glass Company. In the 1920s, Durand Art Glass was the last of the Art Nouveau-style glass produced in America and remains prized by collectors today.
